Jessicah “Cookie” Johnson went 2-for-3 with three RBI, including her second home run of the tournament. Johnson’s performance helped run Louisiana past Texas, 10-3, in the Dixie Youth Majors losers’ bracket. She also got the win, pitching two innings while striking out three.
Louisiana’s Brian Mayon hit a grand slam in the third inning, giving the Morgan City All-Stars three grand slams for the World Series, a tournament record.
Texas is eliminated from the World Series.

Tennessee (Wayne County) 7, Arkansas (Texarkana West) 1
Tennessee put up six runs in the fourth inning to roll past Arkansas, 7-1. Micah Brantley led the way for Tennessee, going 2-for-2 with two RBI. Dalynn Teeftaller earned the win for Tennessee, pitching two innings and striking out four.
